A Day in the Life
The ideal candidate will have a passion for the patients we serve and a desire to improve our processes using a strong continuous improvement foundation, problem solving skills, and interpersonal skills. In this role, you will be responsible for all the Service Part planning activities including scheduling, delivery, expediting, and day-to-day execution to meet service requirements, reduce costs, and balance inventory objectives against service level agreements.
You will join the Global Service & Repair Product Lifecycle Center of Excellence (PLC Co E) to lead a global team of supply chain professionals. This team consists of buyers and planners across Americas, Europe, and Asia. The team is responsible for purchasing & planning service components to maintain capital equipment medical devices across the entire globe.This position is hybrid, based out of our Heerlen, Netherlands office.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Serve as Service Liaison with each Operating Unit’s supply network, production scheduling, finance and manufacturing operations teams to ensure appropriate allocation of spare parts for service
- Drive Inventory Management in downstream Distribution Centers (DC) and Service Centers (Depots) - ensure the plan includes stocking levels to meet customer & repair requirements, work with other Medtronic Planners to maximize inventory efficiency, champion initiatives to reduce working capital / costs while decreasing Service downtime waiting on components
- Lead supply planning activities for new product launches and legacy products phasing out, ensuring awareness of regional phase in / phase out activities and timing differences
- Effectively manage the supply chain to meet Service KPI's relating to service level agreements including Mean Time to Repair, Days waiting Parts, Backlog, and inventory levels
- Provide global communication of part constraints, Service Part projects and key performance indicators
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and vendors
- Monitor supplier & DC performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience
- Willingness to work with global partners which may result in adjusted work schedule
- Willingness to work 3 times / week from our Heerlen office and ability to travel internationally (twice / year)
- Experience working globally; understanding that regions have unique needs
- Ability to build trust across borders
- Fluent in English
The following additional skills are considered a valuable plus: Medical Device or service supply chain experience, APICS / ASCM certifications in CPIM / CSCP / CTSC, Working knowledge of SAP, Blue Yonder, BPCS.
