European Branch Manager - EU/UK

The European Branch Manager (EU/UK) is based out of our Rotterdam, Netherlands facility and will be responsible for overseeing operations and sales support across multiple international branches currently in the United Kingdom, France and Netherlands, ensuring the effective management of rentals, sales, inventory control, order fulfillment, technical support and logistics.

This role focuses on maintaining consistent operational standards, driving revenue growth, and fostering strong relationships with the international sales team and customers. The successful candidate will ensure seamless coordination across branches while supporting the company's global strategy and objectives.

Reporting to the VP of Global Operations, this role collaborates closely with EU Sales Manager, EU Sales Managing Director, EU Branch Supervisors/Managers, North American Branch Manager, Engineering, Finance, Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Training teams to ensure international branch offices are executing the company’s strategy while delivering on the StoneAge Assurance promise.

Requirements

General
  • A key aspect of this role is balancing the operational and sales components of the business. It’s crucial to make decisions that prioritize the customer’s best interests. To achieve this, you will need to collaborate closely with the EU Sales Manager to ensure a proper balance between operations and sales.
  • Manage and develop the team by providing ongoing supervision and coaching to direct reports, guiding them in their current roles, and supporting their career development and training. Set team and individual goals, offering regular feedback on performance. Conduct three "Own-It" chats annually with all direct reports and ensure proper documentation of performance issues for all global branch operations employees. Develops Operational Plans that align to the company strategy and support sales and rental goals.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts and implement corrective actions for interdepartmental issues and conflicts.
  • Develop, adapt, implement, and ensure adherence to standardized business processes at all branch locations, ensuring they align with HQ processes.
  • Hold regular team meetings to maintain clear communication among all team members.
  • Participate in strategic planning meetings and initiatives as needed.
  • Attend New Product Introduction meetings and communicate product updates to Branch Teams.
  • Attend weekly S&OP (supply/demand planning) meetings and provide updates on rental business demand, supply, and revenue.
  • Build a flexible workforce to meet company goals while maximizing team capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the Continuous Improvement Coordinator and/or Manufacturing Engineer on optimization projects, facilitating, supporting, and participating as needed.
  • Develop and manage operational departmental budgets.
  • Partner with Branch Managers, Supervisors, and Sales to develop strategies that drive revenue and enhance customer support.
  • Identify manpower needs and communicate them with the VP of Global Operations, leading the selection process for additional resources.
  • Attend trade shows and on-site product demonstrations as required.
  • Regularly travel internationally to oversee operations across multiple branches.
  • Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the VP of Global Operations.
Branch Office Leadership – Sales & Operations
  • Support the branch teams by processing quotes, orders, rentals, and any other tasks necessary to assist the branches. This is a hands-on role that requires balancing between executing tasks, managing, coaching, and leading.
  • Fill in for Branch Operations Managers or Supervisors during vacations and extended leave at branch locations.
  • Collaborate with Sales Leadership, the North American Branch Manager, VP of Global Operations and branch teammates to support the sales and rental goals of each office.
  • Work with the operations teams to develop and implement inventory management strategies across branches, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained to meet customer demands.
  • Oversee inventory control, including stock transfers, replenishments, and periodic audits, ensuring accuracy and preventing stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Work with Branch Managers, Supervisors, Sales Leadership, NA Branch Manager and the VP of Global Operations to coordinate the regional sales and rental inventory profile.
  • Work with Branch Managers and Supervisors to develop and implement a "Shared Utilization Strategy" for rental equipment. This strategy should ensure that inventory is aligned with regional customer demand and facilitate simple, efficient transactions.
  • Oversee logistics operations to ensure the timely and cost-effective transportation of goods between branches and customers.
  • Manage relationships with global logistics providers and ensure compliance with international shipping and customs regulations.
  • Address and resolve any logistical issues, including customs delays, shipment discrepancies, and damaged goods.
  • Ensure branch employees are effectively using Salesforce to enhance customer visibility, including tracking sales information and logging missed rental opportunities.
  • Communicate policies, new product rollouts, product training, dealer/customer visits, and company updates to Branch Operations Managers and staff, ensuring they feel connected to the StoneAge team.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Training, Field Services and Sales to ensure all branch office team members are properly trained in the function, maintenance, and safety of StoneAge products.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Technical Field Support Manager to provide customer field support as part of our StoneAge Assurance Process.
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices, ensuring branch personnel follow StoneAge safety protocols, OSHA requirements, and WJTA (orange book), WJA, and SIR recommended practices for water jetting.
  • Participate in the opening and establishment of new branches, ensuring smooth operational setup and integration into the global network.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study plus 4 yrs. experience running multi-site sales and rental branches or 7+ years’ experience running multi-site sales and rental branches.
  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in additional languages is a strong advantage.
  • Proven experience leading diverse teams in an international setting.
  • Strong understanding of sales, rental services, inventory management, and global logistics.
  • Familiarity with international trade regulations and customs processes.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • This position is based out of our Netherlands location.
  • Extended working hours may be needed at peak times or when understaffed.
