The energy transition needs you as a Python developer
As a Medior/Senior Python Back-end Developer, you will play a pivotal role in the department System Operations, contributing to the development and management of applications and APIs that handle vast amounts of measurement and forecast data. You will work closely with other Python developers in the team and department to ensure the applications are functional and meet our coding standards. These applications play a crucial role in the efficient use and safety of the electricity grid, including the management of EV-car charging stations, wind turbines, and solar power stations. We contribute to the energy transition, for everyone, with everyone. And as Python developer you can take your part in this transition. Your role involves:
- analysing and optimising database structures and queries to allow high throughput and enable persistence of large amounts of measurement data;
- collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop REST APIs and Event-Driven interfaces using Kafka, capable of processing large datasets.
- writing clean and reusable Python code that aligns with our commitment to code quality.
- ensuring software quality through unit- and integration testing.
- optimising application performance, maintaining software quality- and deployment pipelines and engaging in technical discussions to address and meet design requirements.

- experience in handling large databases and query optimizations, preferably Postgre SQL;
- a minimum of 3 years of experience as a (Python) developer;
- proficiency in building and utilizing REST APIs in a microservice environment;
- strong teamwork skills and a problem-solving mindset;
- proficiency in English (System Operations main language) and/or Dutch.
Better organised for you
Based on a 38-hour working week, you will receive:
- a gross monthly salary of € 4.274 to € 7.079
- annually an Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 18% (full time) or 12.8% (part time) of your gross annual salary. This includes 5.2% ADV (shorter working hours) and 8% holiday allowance. If you do not work full time, you are not entitled to ADV. You can have this budget paid out as extra salary or use it to purchase extra days off, for example. You choose the option that is right for you.
- 25 days’ holiday (statutory + non-statutory). You can use your IKB to top this up to (full time) (part time).
- an end-of-year bonus of 6% of your annual salary in December.
- the possibility to work from home or the offices in Arnhem or Amsterdam;
- a Sustainable Employability Budget of €500 per year. This can be used for expenses such as your sports subscription or coaching, as well as ergonomic home office furniture, career development, or professional literature.
