Internship (R&I): Intern plant proteins

As our new Intern plant proteins, you will work within the Advanced Protein team of Danone. This team focusses on exploring the technical feasibility of implementing innovative ingredients, concepts, or scientific evidence into new or existing products or technologies, based on consumer insights.As an intern, the student will support the Advanced protein team in exploring plant protein functionality in different product applications.
Your main tasks will be:
- - Characterize physical-chemical properties of plant protein.
- Investigate how protein modification influence protein functionality and how to improve their performance in product applications.
- Interact and communicate with different departments within Danone Nutricia Research.
You feel comfortable in the laboratorial environment, and you are a hands-on and data driven person. You are a motivated critical thinker; you have an analytical mindset and are eager to understand the physical and chemical processes underlying each product.
You can work autonomously and are not afraid to proactively reach out to people when necessary. On top of that? You have effective communication skills and excellent time management skills.
There are also some compulsory requirements:
- Enrolled as a student for the whole duration of the internship (if you are a non-EU citizen then you must be enrolled at a Dutch university)
- Ideally available to start in March 2025 for a minimum of 6 months, 5 days per week
- You are fluent in English – written and verbal
- You are able to work from Utrecht, at least 4 times a week;
- Please note that you are required to relocate to the Netherlands (if abroad) for this internship and get a BSN.

We offer a gross monthly internship allowance of 650 euros per month and a home working allowance/contribution towards travel. Please do keep in mind that we do not offer relocation and/or accommodation benefits for students coming from abroad.
- Please be aware that you must acquire a BSN number to receive the full internship allowance.
