Job Purpose:
Our Energy Sourcing team is seeking a new member to manage the sourcing of energy for DHL entities in Germany. In Corporate Procurement, we support all Business Units within the DHL Group, delivering value through and beyond savings. A key priority is to execute our ESG strategy and drive the execution of all sourcing-related aspects of our environmental roadmap toward carbon neutrality.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support local and cross-regional initiatives by creating a comprehensive energy strategy, focusing on electricity and gas sectors
- Coordinate a virtual team across multiple countries to manage energy-related sourcing activities
- Develop, implement, and maintain sourcing strategies for utilities, aligning with DHL Group’s sustainability and corporate social responsibility goals
- Optimize electricity and natural gas sourcing in line with business needs, regulatory frameworks, and industry best practices
- Conduct supply market research to support business decisions, including investments, budgets, and regional frame contracts
- Analyze market trends and regulations to develop price models, forecasts, and cost-saving initiatives
- Provide financial modeling to identify and evaluate new sourcing opportunities and optimize existing contracts
- Negotiate and manage power purchase agreements (PPAs) for renewable energy and power supply contracts
- Collaborate with energy brokers, consultants, and agents to implement innovative energy projects
- Work with Corporate Real Estate teams to support strategic energy sourcing opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, internal stakeholders, and decision-makers
- At least 5 years of experience in the energy sector, with strong expertise in pricing and contract negotiation
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Economics, Energy, Finance, or a related field
- Knowledge of green electricity sourcing and low/zero-carbon technologies
- Proven negotiation skills, especially in drafting and finalizing agreements
- Proficient in financial modeling; knowledge of Python or similar tools is a plus
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate utility tariffs, energy procurement strategies, and market opportunities
- Solid understanding of the German energy market and experience in regional energy management is preferred
- Experience in energy trading or power generation in global markets is desirable
- Excellent communication skills in English (required); proficiency in German is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
