MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
An Automation Application Specialist is primarily responsible to provide installation and service support that drives the Abbott Automation System. In addition, this role provides technical training to ADD internal roles and to end users.
The position will focus on the project and service support tasks related to the Automation system, including connected instrument.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES- Own Automation projects implementation across Region together with hardware and IT team members.
- Ensures that all activities are performed in compliance with quality system requirements.
- Support customer meetings in order to help with definition, implementation and improvement of the workflow and related specific configurations.
- Configure the automation system, including connected instruments, as per defined workflow and customer needs.
- Perform validation and qualification of the automation system, including connected instruments.
- Perform user, key user and track-master level customer training in Abbott facilities or on-site.
- Provide onsite support during go-live phase.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting regarding sample-related issues, including: routing, error handling, exception management and result production.
- Monitor automation and instrument performance and provide suggestions for configuration changes in order to reduce T.A.T., improve throughput, balance the workload on the modules.
- Analyze existing solutions to provide improvements and suggestions.
- Participate in Area Expert team meetings for automation.
- Perform application-related technical coaching and training for Application Specialist, Technical Service Specialist,AbbottAmbassador, TSO.
- Keep the installation documentation and tickets up-to-date and update the project plans.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelors/ Engineering degree in medical electrical/ life sciences or medical technology/biotechnical Engineer is preferred.
- Preferably 5 years of experience in Field Service and/or Application Support, supported by management and customer references.
- The knowledge of Laboratory flows and its dynamics constitutes a plus.
- Successful engagement with customers, specifically key stakeholders and lab staff.
- Good product and industry knowledge.
- Strong experience and process skills of the business functions service delivery.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to identify and drive resolution of issues.
- Technical expert for product line accountability.
- Coaching and training skills.
- Strong experience in use of analytical tools and software.
