Embedded Software Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and test systems, subsystems, and components as part of a user story or feature, while considering the architectural implications.
• Create designs optimized for both manual and automated testability.
• Actively participate in planning and retrospective activities during scrum rituals.
• Identify and resolve impediments, with support from the Scrum Master if needed.
• Collaborate with, support, and guide team members to achieve collective goals, fostering knowledge sharing and teamwork.
• Deliver on the "Definition of Done," ensuring minimal build failures due to integration issues and responding quickly when issues arise.
• Continuously challenge the status quo and introduce best software development practices to the automotive industry.
• Participate in bi-annual hackathons to innovate and experiment.

Reporting: You will report to the Supervisor of Platform Development - Software Engineering.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Educational Background:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Informatics, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• Candidates with a background in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering will not be considered.
• If claiming equivalence in education, provide details of software engineering-related courses completed.
• Technical Skills:
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience in model-based software environments such as Simulink.
• Demonstrated ability to showcase software projects (e.g., on GitHub or similar platforms) during interviews. These projects can range from automotive software to mobile apps or backend services.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong team collaboration, conflict resolution, and accountability.
• Proactive, adaptable, and self-organized work approach.
• Language Requirements:
• Fluent in English (written and verbal).
• Willingness to learn Dutch.
• Personal Attributes:
• Willingness to learn and demonstrate perseverance in tackling challenges.
