MVRDV is looking f an ambitious f a Business Development Manager to join our Global Business Development team based at our Rotterdam headquarters. You need to be a motivated self-starter and have confidence in taking ownership of several projects.

MVRDV is a global operating firm with a team of me than 300 employees, dedicated to innovative architecture and urban design. Founded in 1993, the MVRDV headquarters are based in Rotterdam with offices in Shanghai, Berlin, Paris, and New Yk.

The Business Development team

As a member of the Business Development team, we wk together to find new projects across multiple markets f MVRDV, including through public tenders, private competitions, active research, and pitching. A typical day can consist of analysing potential projects and developments, liaising with the architectural teams, and producing project proposals.
You will be active across many areas of architecture and urbanism - such as tender production, the design process and project delivery, market research, commercial proposals, and communication with several outside parties including consultants, public entities, and private clients.

Because of this, you will gain extensive knowledge of architectural and urban development processes from the inside, while also getting a chance to practice your ability to sell ideas and buildings.

You come with some experience in business development, communications, perhaps as a designer within the architecture field – and are driven by winning new projects f MVRDV.

Job tasks and responsibilities

In sht, you will be focusing on new business development opptunities f MVRDV. Here is a brief summary of tasks and responsibilities that you can expect: Identifying and researching markets f potential future business opp
  • tunities, analysing potential projects and developments
  • Developing project proposals and tender documents (EOIs, RFQs, RFPs, Fee Proposals)
  • Proactively managing relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Liaising with our architectural teams
  • Assembling project teams and liaising with potential consultants

  • ting the Business Development team as a whole. Aiming to achieve broader goals and targets together with the team.
  • You will join a team of talented business developers which is part of the Strategy and Development studio.
  • Help maintain CRM database

Job requirements

Higher professional (hbo) university education (wo) in Real Estate, Urban Planning, (Landscape) Architecture
  • Business Management. In case of the latter, demonstrable affinity with architecture is
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the building industry, with at least 1-3 years of experience in a similar position (e.g. Business Development Manager, Sales manager, etc.).
  • Creative and innovative skills
Experienced Adobe Creative Suite, MS W
  • d, Excel and Power Point user.
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Understanding of architectural processes
Understanding of project development and/
  • conception
  • Familiarity specifically with In Design and Excel
  • Graphic design skills and experience with creating diagrams and layouts will be highly valued
  • Excellent spoken and written English. Knowledge of other languages is an asset
