Job Description:
As an Assistant Financial Controller, you will be an integral part of our finance team, providing essential support to the Head of Finance. This role is perfect for someone looking to take the next step their career in finance, offering opportunities to learn and develop key skills in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
You will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring the smooth operation of financial activities across the company. This is a hands-on role where attention to detail and a proactive attitude are key to supporting the company's financial growth.Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting Support:
- Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Support the financial consolidation process across the company’s operating entities.
- Assist with preparing annual accounts and liaise with external auditors as needed. - As part of this role, you will also gain hands-on experience working directly with our accounting system and general ledgers, ensuring accuracy in financial data entry and reconciliation tasks.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Provide support in the budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with various departments to gather data.
- Help monitor the budget performance and highlight any variances for senior management.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Reconcile transactions and manage the flow of financial data between different departments.
Financial Systems Support:
- Assist in maintaining financial software systems (e.g., AFAS, Luca Net) and ensure data accuracy.
- Work alongside the senior finance team to improve system processes and provide training to other users.
Compliance & Financial Controls:
- Help ensure compliance with local regulations (e.g., VAT, tax declarations) and assist in risk management processes.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of internal financial controls.
Competencies:
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
- Highly organized with good time-management skills.
- Proactive attitude, eager to learn and take on new challenges.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Team player, capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial ERP systems (knowledge of AFAS and Luca Net is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting internship or entry-level role is desirable but not required.

- Chartered Accountant Qualification? (CA, CPA, ACCA) (Preferred)
- HBO Level Finance, accounting or business economics? (Required)
