Assistant Financial Controller

As an Assistant Financial Controller, you will be an integral part of our finance team, providing essential support to the Head of Finance. Financial Reporting Support:

• Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
• Support the financial consolidation process across the company’s operating entities.
• Assist with preparing annual accounts and liaise with external auditors as needed. - As part of this role, you will also gain hands-on experience working directly with our accounting system and general ledgers, ensuring accuracy in financial data entry and reconciliation tasks.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Provide support in the budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with various departments to gather data.
• Help monitor the budget performance and highlight any variances for senior management.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

• Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Reconcile transactions and manage the flow of financial data between different departments.

Financial Systems Support:

• Assist in maintaining financial software systems (e.g., AFAS, Luca Net) and ensure data accuracy.
• Work alongside the senior finance team to improve system processes and provide training to other users.

Compliance & Financial Controls:

• Help ensure compliance with local regulations (e.g., VAT, tax declarations) and assist in risk management processes.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of internal financial controls.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial ERP systems (knowledge of AFAS and Luca Net is a plus).
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
• Previous experience in a finance or accounting internship or entry-level role is desirable but not required.

License/Certification:

• Chartered Accountant Qualification? (CA, CPA, ACCA) (Preferred)
• HBO Level Finance, accounting or business economics? (Required)
