Purpose
As a Senior Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, pursuing, and closing business opportunities with clients like key accounts in aviation industry in the Netherlands. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for your clients, managing relationships and guiding them strategically.You will also be part of a virtual team dedicated to supporting account objectives and ensuring sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities- Sales Leadership: Execute all sales activities in alignment with both short- and long-term objectives. Formulate and implement strategies to drive growth within assigned accounts.
- Account Management: Oversee the allocated accounts, fostering deep relationships and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Create and execute a strategic account plan that aligns with overall business goals.
- Team Collaboration & Coaching: Build, support, and guide the virtual team (including members from Business Development, Solution Design, Commercial Management, and Pricing). Foster a collaborative, high-performance environment and coach team members to optimize alignment and engagement.
- Account Development Planning: Continuously develop and maintain Account Development Plans, setting clear priorities and identifying growth opportunities. Ensure resources are aligned to support the plan’s objectives and address all potential growth avenues.
- Client Relationship Building: Act as the trusted consultant and advisor, understanding each client’s unique needs and proactively offering solutions that drive value. Build and maintain customer loyalty through a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Opportunity Creation: Identify unique perspectives and opportunities during client conversations, aligning insights with client priorities and encouraging them to view their business from a new perspective.
- Pipeline & Demand Generation: Collaborate with Marketing to grow the sales pipeline, converting qualified leads into actionable opportunities. Maintain accurate sales forecasts to ensure revenue growth targets are met.
- Operational Efficiency: Oversee customer requests, ensuring they are addressed promptly and that services are delivered according to schedule. Proactively address any operational issues impacting the client experience.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with customer stakeholders, facilitating productive conversations and strategically managing the purchase process to accelerate the sales cycle.
- Market Awareness: Stay informed on economic trends and industry developments, sharing relevant insights internally and with clients to uncover new business opportunities.
- Compliance & Financial Management: Ensure compliance with internal and external requirements. Lead efforts related to cash collection and resolve any issues impacting payment.
Qualifications:
Qualifications & Experience- 7+ years of experience in sales, preferably within the aviation technology (ATI) or IT sector.
- Proven track record of building strong relationships with clients at senior executive levels.
- Demonstrated success in revenue growth and meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience managing complex sales deals, including financial structuring, negotiation, and closing.
- Background in business development and pipeline management within high-turnover environments.
- Experience in developing and implementing account development plans.
- Strong customer service skills, with a commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Language: Fluent in Dutch and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills. And in addition, mastering the French language would be a nice addition
- Leadership: Ability to lead, develop, and inspire a virtual team.
- Strategic Vision: Skilled in creating and executing long-term account strategies.
- Analytical Thinking: Proactive in identifying opportunities and tailoring solutions to client needs.
- Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills, capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Knowledgeable about economic drivers and industry trends, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
Additional Information
This role is designed for individuals with a proactive approach to client management and growth strategy. Occasional travel may be required to strengthen client relationships and support account development. The Senior Account Manager position offers potential for expanded responsibilities over time based on performance.
