Junior Software Engineer
We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer to help us build new functionality and add improvements to our software. If you have an eye for writing code and are interested in agile methodologies, we’d like to meet you!
Key about your role
As a Software Engineer within a scrum team you use high quality code to solve complex puzzles. You collaborate with design engineers and test engineers to create new functionality for our customers and add internal improvements to our software.Together with the other members of your scrum team, you take full responsibility for a vital part of the software. You strive to deliver only solid solutions by optimizing their performance, usability and testability, and you are proud of the products that you create.
You analyze complex problems by actively cooperating with colleagues from various teams and find the best solution by combining the different insights. As a part of a large community of fellow software engineers you are always looking for opportunities to keep improving your coding skills, and by doing so, improve our software and code base.
Key about your team
The Claims team is responsible for all the core insurance processes surrounding claims handling. This is a very dynamic part of insurance software as claims are where our customers get their chance to prove their worth! The Claims team makes it possible to configure flexible claim report forms that can increase their efficiency with lots of automation.We also make it easy to communicate with all parties involved in the claim, and in the end make it possible to settle the claim in a way that makes their clients happy.
The team consists of functional designers, software engineers and test engineers and as a self-organizing scrum team, the team organizes their work in such a way that customer satisfaction is achieved through developing high-quality software in an optimal way.

Key about you- You have experience with large technical ecosystems using Java, IntelliJ, Git, Gradle, Angular, Docker;
- You have experience in working with SQL and databases (DB2, PostgreSQL);
- You are used to creating and performing unit, system and integration tests as part of your development work;
- You understand the agile way of working, tools and techniques;
- You have an eye for writing code with attention for performance, scalability and maintainability;
- It’s a plus if you have experience with or interest in CICD (Teamcity, Bash, Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack, Chef, etc.);
- You are passionate about your code. You love to put your strong analytical skills to the test whilst working closely together with your team.
- A Certificate of Conduct (VOG) and reference check are part of the application process.
- Each employee within Keylane must follow training on information security and irrespective to the role basic information security responsibilities apply
- Starting with a monthly gross salary between € 3,000 and € 4,000 based on 40 hours per week;
- 8% holiday allowance of your total gross salary;
- A profit share;

- Travel reimbursement: Receive a mileage allowance of €0.23 per km or an NS Business Card, which can also be used for personal travel
- 24 holiday days (with the option to buy extra) and 7 inclusion days, which can be exchanged with fixed Dutch national holidays, allowing you to take them when you like;
- Flexibility in working environment. As part of a hybrid working team, you will work partly from home and partly from the office.
