Job Summary: Are you looking for an interesting Corporate Financial Controller position within a highly ambitious international company in Testing, Inspection and Certification? Do you aspire to take responsibility for the management and improvement of financial processes at a large corporate headquarter? Then you might well be Kiwa’s new Corporate Financial Controller based in Rijswijk. About the role:
At Kiwa we have highly ambitious growth plans. As a Corporate Financial Controller, we expect you to take ownership of the financial management of the balance sheets and profit and loss statement of our corporate legal entities, including reporting in accordance with IFRS, internal policies and procedures and tax regulations.
You will continuously professionalize Kiwa’s ways of working, and therefore also drive enhancements in financial processes and systems throughout the organization, including monthly and quarterly financial closures, audits, and compliance with local regulations, as well as supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.

You are “data minded” and able to provide deep insights and fact-based analysis and it will be your responsibility to inform and persuade senior stakeholders on how to act next. You will work in a small team (3 FTE), but collaborate closely with the broader Corporate Finance team of more than 25 colleagues.

Your responsibilities:

  • Interacting with various other departments such as Accounting, Tax and Internal Control;
  • Being a sparring partner for the Manager Corporate Control, Corporate Director Finance and other senior stakeholders;
  • Ensuring the timely execution of actuals, forecasts and other reporting activities for Kiwa’s corporate legal entities;
  • Conducting thorough reviews of the full profit and loss statement and balance sheet and coordinating variance analyses of actuals compared to reference periods;
  • Overseeing important corporate financial processes, such as the accounts payable approval flow, treasury (intercompany financing and dividends), balance sheet hygiene measures and purchase price accounting, whereby the Dutch shared service center is an important stakeholder;
  • Assisting in the preparation of tax accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance;
  • Improving existing processes, policies and internal controls to enhance the efficiency of month-end and year-end closures;
  • Supporting management with financial planning, including presentations and various ad hoc analyses;
  • Facilitate the preparation and filing of statutory financial statements in alignment with IFRS and existing local and fiscal regulations;
  • Leading and conducting projects such as restructurings, legal entity rationalization, and other accounting initiatives;
  • Transfer Pricing policies adherence, documentation collation, alignment and review with countries;
  • Exercising independent judgment and decision-making within the scope of the role, which allows for a degree of autonomy.
Do you have what it takes?:
You can (and dare to) make a change. You are able to combine first-class analytical skills with a creative and problem-solving mindset. You are used to working in projects and you are a pragmatic and confident personality with excellent communication skills and a result-oriented approach.

You can work independently as well as in a team and take ownership for your projects.

What background you need

For this position, we would like you to bring these educational and personal skills:

  • Master or Bachelor in Finance, Accounting or another relevant area;
  • About 7-10 years of professional experience in a similar position, preferably in a corporate and international environment;
  • Demonstrated hands-on approach and can-do attitude with strong ownership of a wide range of finance and accounting topics;
  • Solid understanding of General Ledger and IFRS, as well as a strong motivation to continuously learn and improve;
  • You are accurate and have attention for detail and used to meeting strict deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy;
  • Ability to work independently within time constraints and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously;
  • You have extensive data analysis skills, including experience with ERP and BI-Tools;
  • You are fluent in English (speaking and writing), Dutch proficiency is an advantage;
  • You are available for 36 - 40 hours per week;
  • You are based in the Netherlands and are entitled to work here.
What can you expect from us in return?:

As Corporate Financial Controller at Kiwa, you will hold a challenging position in a technically oriented, ambitious, expanding international organisation. At Kiwa, we value your professional development and personal wellbeing. You will be given ample opportunities to balance your working and private life by planning your office hours flexibly and, if desired, partly remotely.
