The International Health Centre The Hague (IHCH) has an immediate vacancy for an enthusiastic Diabetes nurse (POH-Somatiek) who will work alongside the GPs and Specialists at our vibrant, international practice. Flexible hours are possible.
Duties:As POH diabetes nurse you will provide personalised care to international patients with Diabetes Type 1 & 2, independently carry out consultations and make patient-specific plans around self-regulation and self-control. You will give information and advice on the treatment of Diabetes Mellitus and assist in managing and preventing complications that may result from Diabetes 1 & 2.
The applicant must meet the following requirements:
- Qualified diabetes nurse
- Experience working with patients with Diabetes Type 1 & 2
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Working knowledge of Dutch or currently learning Dutch at B2 level
- Highly empathic with excellent interpersonal skills and strong cultural awareness
- Ability to work independently and show flexibility
- BIG registration is an asset

The International Health Centre the Hague (IHCH) is a dynamic Medical Facility that offers primary, paramedical, pharmaceutical, dental and medical specialist care, all under one roof. The services we offer are tailored to the specific needs and wishes of a diverse patient base of expatriates, internationals and Dutch citizens in The Hague and its surroundings.
Our large team consists of committed, expert caregivers. With approximately 110 staff and 25 nationalities, the IHCH has a unique international character with English as well as other languages widely spoken across the GP, Policlinic, Prevention, Patient Relations, Pharmacy and Dentistry departments.

Over de functie
Als diabetesverpleegkundige binnen de praktijk verleen je specifieke verpleegkundige zorg aan internationale patiënten met Diabetes type 1 & 2. Je voert je eigen verpleegkundig spreekuren en geeft advies over de behandeling van Diabetes Mellitus en het voorkomen van complicaties.Je maakt in samenspraak met de patiënt afspraken over zelfregulatie en zelfcontrole.
Wat breng je mee?Om in aanmerking te komen voor deze functie ben jij een gediplomeerde POH-S. Je hebt een patiëntgerichte en dienstverlenende instelling en bent een enthousiaste, betrokken teamspeler.
- Afgeronde opleiding diabetesverpleegkundige
- Goede beheersing van Nederlands & Engels in woord en geschrift
- Ervaring in de zorg voor patiënten met diabetes type 1 & 2
- Beschikking van goede communicatieve en sociale vaardigheden
- BIG geregistreerd en ingeschreven in het kwaliteitsregister van de V&VN Diabeteszorg
- Zelfstandigheid/empatisch/probleemoplossend vermogen
- Oplettend, nauwkeurig, integer en betrouwbaar
- Stressbestendig, flexibel en besluitvaardig
- Je bent ook van harte uitgenodigd om te reageren als ZZP-er
