What is Marketing Procurement?
Marketing procurement is the process of sourcing and managing external marketing services and resources, such as advertising agencies, media buying, and production services, with a focus on optimizing costs, quality, and value. It involves negotiating contracts, ensuring efficient use of the marketing budget, and fostering strategic relationships to maximize ROI.The goal is to align marketing needs with financial and operational efficiency.
Your job
As a valued member of the Commerce, Professional and Business Services team – you would be working within the Marketing Services team and mainly for the ATL Creative and Production (Advertising) category and support the Media and CMI (Market Research) categories.
This will involve:
- Support the Global Category Managers with translating Global strategies into markets plans
- Liaising with a range of stakeholders in HGP (Heineken Global Procurement) and Commerce (Marketing Teams mainly) and Markets Globally
- Leading your own projects
- Supporting the teams in documents writing and presentation
- Developing an understanding of ATL Creative and Production category
- Possibility of negotiation of some small scopes of work for brands
- Mapping current processes and designing future processes
- Benchmark industry best practices
- Analysing internal data and providing insights
You will be part of the Procurement department; however, we do not expect procurement background or procurement studies specifically. Our key stakeholders are Marketing teams, Markets and Agencies. Please note there are no Marketing tasks involved such as brand or media planning for example.
Depending on the role and your capability, you could be working on specific projects across the wider department to maximise your growth and learning experience.

The department
As a Commerce, Professional and Business Services intern, you will report to the Global Category Leader for Marketing Services your position is based in Amsterdam / remotely (3 days in the office, 2 days remotely.
The terms of employment- Your starting date is 1st March 2025
- The internship is fulltime
- The duration of the internship is 5 or 6 months (in consultation with your internship supervisor)
- It is a practice-oriented internship
- You will be based in Amsterdam
- Working from hybrid
- You will receive an internship fee of €650 gross pm based on 40 hours per week
- You will enjoy 2 vacation days per month (based on fulltime)
- If you do not have a student OV product, your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed
The start of your internship
Together with a diverse group of interns from different departments you will start your internship at HEINEKEN. Together you will be introduced to the organization. Furthermore, you can organize fun activities with your fellow interns.

For this role, we are looking for a candidate who has a willingness to learn and develop their skills and capabilities across communication, commercial, contracts, sustainability, and innovation.

Also, the ideal candidate has/ is:
- Currently in study for a Bachelors or Master’s degree.
- Fluent English language required.
- Strong skills at using general office tools (Microsoft)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with various stakeholders
- Comfortable working independently on tasks and at the same time be a team player
- Assertive, pragmatic, resilient and a can-do attitude
- Strong personality with the ability to work and adapt in a demanding and fast-paced environment
- Excellent analytical skills
- Registered in a European (EU) University for the duration of the internship (6 months) or able to work in Europe
- You are enrolled at an educational institution.
- In the case of non-EU nationality, you must be registered as an intern with a Dutch educational institution, from which we receive proof of enrollment for the current academic year from you.
- In case of EU nationality, you may also be registered as an intern at educational institutions outside the EU.
- Living in the Netherlands during internship (HEINEKEN does not facilitate housing).
