About the job
The raw material markets are changing and evolving rapidly nowadays, which brings a lot of challenges but also exciting opportunities. Your main challenge will be to secure the best possible position for Nouryon in these markets. In this role you will make an important contribution to the execution of the business strategy and the success of Nouryon.This role came up because the current job holder will retire later this year.
In your future role as Category Manager you will- Be responsible for sourcing a broad scope of raw materials for a number of our production locations in Europe
- Participate in and contribute to Procurement improvement projects across the function, working together with senior Procurement stakeholders (Procurement Directors, CPO), and other internal functions
- Actively engage with key stakeholders from different Business Lines to gather business requirements to ensure raw material supply
- Pro-actively work on improving your raw material portfolio, in areas such as sustainability, supply security or risk mitigation
- A university degree in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or Science
- At least 3 years of working experience in a commercial business role (e.g. procurement, sales or planning)
- Fluency in English, both verbal as well as in writing
- The ability to run projects independently
- Experience with SAP and/or SAP Ariba
- An ambitious self-starter with a proactive attitude to add value to our organization
- A true team player capable of handling strategic and operational challenges in a pragmatic approach
- A critical thinker

You will have the chance to work with various stakeholders across all levels of the organization. Amongst them is a mature procurement team, senior management teams, and several plant functions, and of course also suppliers all over Europe or in other regions. Our employment package comprises:
- A permanent contract with a probationary period of 2 months
- A gross basic annual salary including holiday allowance based on your knowledge and experience
- 25 vacation days + 10 leave days

Good to know
This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, based in Amsterdam. You will be reporting to the regional procurement manager who is also based in Amsterdam.
