About the role

The Buyer role is responsible for providing best-in-class procurement support to Essity stakeholders, driving diverse procurement initiatives, supporting digitalization and process automation, and contributing to the savings goals and objectives.

Procurement is recognized for its stakeholder centric way of working, agility and ability to continuously add value to the Essity business. As a category buyer you will work hand in hand with the global category team and your Stakeholder in order to ensure the execution of global and local initiatives as well as drive savings initiatives and deliver added value.

Key Job Accountabilities
  • You will be responsible for buying services across our main office locations for one of our main Categories (Professional Services, FM, IT);
  • He/she executes procurement tasks according to the global strategy while ensuring high quality projects and services;
  • You will oversee the supplier base within your Category and lead negotiations across locations, using appropriate e-sourcing tools and techniques;
  • Execute and implement procurement strategy in area of responsibility;
  • Identify and execute saving initiatives and execute RFQ´s directly in Ariba;
  • Ensure usage of preferred supplier contracts in order to maximize results and to comply with the procurement strategy;
  • Gather and analyses spend and price data, identifying opportunities for negotiations based on company and market data;
  • Close cooperation and alignment with operational and global procurement teams, to ensure implementation and deployment of programs and initiatives around the globe;
  • Manage risk and lead negotiations for all local categories across locations, using appropriate e-sourcing tools and techniques. Ensure appropriate contingency plans are in place in accordance to procurement policies and procedures;
  • Support Business Partnering to drive continuous improvement through cost saving projects, organizing trials, implementing supplier changes and tracking savings;
  • Ensure compliance with Essity procedures, purchasing policy and financial instructions;
  • Actively exchange best practice in the buyer team and identify and execute saving initiatives;
  • Highlight opportunities to bundle spend and contract volumes , review buying channel mapping regularly for the local categories;
  • Build sustainable relationships with suppliers;
  • Ensure high quality of Vendor Master Data and ensure an up-to-date source list (Contract/ Catalog /Purchase Info Records) for local suppliers;
  • Provide insight to improvement system efficiency and escalate supplier to SQM and Category Management and system/process issues to Procurement Excellence to ensure continuous improvement.

What you need
  • University-/BA-/BS-College degree within relevant field (Business, Economics);
  • At least 2 years of experience in procurement with demonstrated strategic sourcing competence;
  • Experience with indirect services (IT, HR, FM);
  • Experience in supporting multi-functional projects in an international work environment with remote locations;
  • Competence of working strategically, adequate track record preferred;
  • Good knowledge of contract law ;
  • Pronounced negotiation skills and assertiveness;
  • Fluent in English (written and oral) is a must, second language preferred;
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Ariba, SAP, Power BI).
