Job description
We have a new vacancy for a Mechanical Project Engineer at Vanderlande Industries B.V. in Veghel.
In the Warehousing Project Engineering Department they design and implement cutting-edge material handling systems.
Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and working under the guidance of a Project Leader, you’ll play a pivotal role in executing complex projects with mechanical and electrical components.
What you’ll do as a Mechanical Project Engineer:
- You will modulate a client's system.
- You will build a project together with different products. Modules will be supplied to you from R&D. You apply this across the board and not in deep, specific technical areas.
- The end customer has a logistics requirement, and you have to be able to fit this in, get it functional with building complexity and safety measures etc.
- You need to coordinate with multiple disciplines and therefore have a hands-on mentality.
- You configure in the system and therefore spend much of your time in CAD to fit it in. Aligning design and tooling.
- It is not a development/design function, and not the role where you are actually building the machine
- You can be deployed for multiple projects
Your other responsibilities will include:
- Develop 3D designs, from initial sketches to final customer approval, using CAD software.
- Bill of Materials (BoM): Create accurate BoMs and collaborate with Supply Chain teams to ensure timely delivery within customer specifications.
- Site Support: Provide knowledge-based support to site installation teams, either remotely or on-site.
- Problem-Solving: Address challenges that arise during the engineering or installation/commissioning phases, ensuring smooth project execution.
- Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Work closely with multiple disciplines to ensure alignment in design and tooling, maintaining a hands-on approach to your work.

- Bachelor degree in a technical area e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Automotive Engineering.
- Strong engineering background to support technical decision-making
- Knowledge of 3D designs
- Experience with CAD software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbally and in writing in English.
- Willing to travel around 10% of the working time (no travel is not an option)
