At Bliq, our platform is designed for homeowners who want to optimize their energy consumption and contribute to a sustainable future. We’ve built a system powered by a smart algorithm that aggregates data from a variety of sources including energy usage, solar power, electric vehicles, and market rates to help users save and earn from their energy consumption.

We are looking for a Compatibility Engineer to join our team in the Amsterdam area. In this role, you will work on the integration between our Energy Management System (EMS) and various devices, including inverters, batteries, and other energy-related hardware.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain integrations between our EMS and third-party devices;
  • Work extensively with Modbus, Python, and networking technologies;
  • Troubleshoot and resolve communication issues between EMS and connected devices;
  • Provide second-line support, assisting internal teams and customers with technical challenges;
  • Collaborate with engineers, developers, and external vendors to ensure seamless compatibility.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of Modbus (RTU/TCP) and industrial communication protocols;
  • Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation;
  • Experience with systems battery connecting and integration;
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP and troubleshooting networked devices;
  • Ability to work from the office at least three times per week as part of a hybrid work model;
  • Strong technical awareness with the ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex issues;
  • Upper-intermediate English proficiency;
  • Experience with energy-related hardware (inverters, batteries) is a plus;
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to provide effective second-line support.
