As our new Encapsulation Intern, you will be part of our enthusiastic and diverse Lipids and Encapsulation team who test innovative and superior technological solutions based on encapsulation to answer patients and consumers needs within Danone’s One Planet One Health vision.Your key role will be to contribute to our product portfolio by starting an investigation into encapsulation technologies and how they can be of value to Danone and its consumers and patients.
So, what will you do in practice?- Review literature and extract relevant data;
- Build and execute a research plan to investigate encapsulated ingredient performance in the final product;
- Perform trials on lab and pilot scale;
- Analyze the trial products to get deep scientific understanding;
- Make links between results from the lab and fundamentals of encapsulation technologies;
- Summarize results in a comprehensive report;
- Work in a multidisciplinary team and communicate with various experts.
As a Lipids & Encapsulation intern, advanced microscopy and analytical methodology will be second nature to you. You can communicate easily, are highly motivated, enthusiastic and not afraid of a challenge. On top of that? You’re proactive and are not afraid of taking initiatives and bringing your own creative and innovative ideas to the team, and who’s always looking for opportunities to learn and develop.
There are also some compulsory requirements:
- Enrolled as a Master student during the whole internship period (if you are a non-EU citizen, you need to be enrolled at a Dutch university);
- Ideally available to start in March or April 2025 for a minimum of 6 months, 5 days per week;
- You are fluent in English - spoken and written;
- You are able to work from the office in Utrecht, at least 3-5 times per week;
- Please note that you are required to relocate to the Netherlands (if abroad) for this internship and get a BSN.

As a Lipids & Encapsulation intern, you will learn about encapsulated ingredient performance and have the opportunity to perform trials on lab and pilot scale. And the best part? We offer a gross monthly internship allowance of 650 euros per month and a home working allowance/contribution towards travel. Please do keep in mind that we do not offer relocation and/or accommodation benefits for students coming from abroad.
