Trade compliance Specialist
Overview:
This role is part of Repligen’s growing Global Trade Compliance Team and will be the subject matter expert for EU and UK trade
regulations and compliance. This is a highly visible role which will partner closely with many departments across the organization to
provide strategic and operational guidance on trade compliance matters. The Trade Compliance Specialist reports directly to the
Global Trade Compliance Manager EU.
The Trade Compliance Specialist will work closely with various departments, including logistics, legal, and operations, to oversee
and manage the company's trade compliance programs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background and experience with EU import and export regulations, HS classifications, export
control classifications, customs valuation, country of origin, duty free provisions and experience with government agency
requirements.
This position is located at Repligen’s EU Distribution Center and Manufacturing site in Breda.
Responsibilities:
As Trade compliance Specialist you will be responsible for:
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company's operations comply with international trade laws and regulations, including but not limited to export control, customs regulations, and sanctions. Conduct regular audits and risk assessments
- Filling Import and Export Related Declarations in DMS: Ensure accurate and timely filing of import and export declarations in the Document Management System (DMS).
- HS and Dual Use Export Classification: Classify goods according to the Harmonized System (HS) and identify dual-use items that may require special export licenses. Ensure compliance with relevant export control regulations and maintain accurate classification records
- Training and Education: Provide training and guidance to employees on trade compliance issues, policies, and procedures. Ensure staff are aware of and understand their responsibilities concerning trade compliance.
- Collaboration: Part of a global team that works closely with internal departments, such as logistics, legal, and operations, to ensure compliance with trade regulations. Liaise with external regulatory bodies as necessary.
- License Management: Manage and monitor all export and import licenses. Ensure timely renewals and compliance with license conditions.
- Incident Reporting: Investigate and report any compliance breaches or potential violations to the relevant authorities. Implement measures to prevent recurrence.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be a licensed Custom Broker backed-up by the following:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of trade compliance experience
- Experience with HS and Dual Use export control classifications
- Familiarity and proficiency with SAP & Global Trade Services (“GTS”), a plus
- Professional communication skills in English, both verbal and written, required
