Your Mission
As the Head of Data Management at Byondis, you will lead the definition of data policies, establish robust data architecture, and drive the use of data to inform strategic decision-making and fuel the creation of breakthrough therapies. You will ensure that Byondis stays at the forefront of industry and regulatory trends while enabling rapid advancements in data quality and governance.Your leadership will empower a cross-functional team of scientists, data owners, and technical experts, driving the development of data systems that support cutting-edge R&D efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the data management strategy, ensuring alignment with Byondis’ broader business objectives and future growth.
- Data Architecture: Lead the design and governance of data architecture, translating strategy into robust models, standards, and processes that streamline data flow and support the advancement of medical research and innovation.
- Data Governance & Quality: Establish and enforce corporate-wide data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, compliance, and integrity across all domains.
- Information & Business Advice: Provide expert advice to senior leadership on data policies, strategy implementation, and change initiatives, ensuring data-driven decision-making at every level.
- Organizational Capability Building: Identify and build the data capabilities needed to meet current and future business demands, developing talent within your team and across the organization.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with senior executives, R&D teams, and technical data owners, ensuring high levels of collaboration and mutual trust.
- Budgeting & Resource Management: Take ownership of data management budgets, ensuring resources align with strategic priorities.
- Proven Expertise: 5+ years of data governance, quality, and management experience within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
- Educational Background: A Master’s/Ph D in computational biology, data science, or a related field, with a passion for data-driven decision-making.
- Visionary Leadership: Experience developing and executing data management strategies within a complex, regulated environment, anticipating challenges and seizing opportunities.
- Data Systems Knowledge: In-depth understanding of data systems, FAIR principles, and database management.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of how data can drive business success, with experience managing budgets and aligning data strategies with broader business goals.
- Team Builder: Exceptional leadership skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams and fostering collaboration across departments.

Contract and locationContract hours: 32-40 hours/week.
Salary: depending on experience.
Location: Office-base in Nijmegen, with the ability to work remotely for part of the week.
