Site Development Manager

The Site Development Manager at DHL Supply Chain is responsible for optimization, digitalization and standardization of our business in close cooperation with our sites and business units. Together with the team you will ensure that existing and new business runs successful and is continuously improving.

Responsibilities
  • Drive the Operations Excellence agenda in the business;
  • Act as a sparring partner for the site management teams and BU director on Operations Excellence topics;
  • Act as a linking pin for the BU management for strategic Operations Excellence topics and related information channeling (vice versa);
  • Manage Site Development Plans (for each individual site) for our sites as the agreed improvement action plan between site team and functions (IT, finance, account development, operations excellence, etc);
  • Deploy and manage strategic operations excellence programs like operations basics, first choice and innovation via the Site Development Plans;
  • Make sure that relevant innovations and sustainability improvements are identified and deployed as part of our OwnTomorrow agenda;
  • Support the sites with the interpretation and action definition of the monthly Site Dashboard;
  • Together with the CI team and Logistic Engineers develop and incubate new improvement and innovation topics that help our operations and customers;
  • Stimulate and activate improvement of performance on existing sites and safeguard innovation and efficiency in our renewals and in new customer bids;
  • Make use of, and share best practices from the sites in or outside your area;
  • Support OMS implementations in your area, acting as an “ambassador”;
  • Support sites in LPMC (low performing accounts) improvement action driving and follow-up;
Tasks, related with the responsibilities above
  • Support ADM (account development manager) with renewals of existing business, improvements to the customer offering, and small bids;
  • Monitor and challenge productivity targets;
  • Structured Gemba’s, to check operational status of sites, standardization and programs
What can we offer you
  • A good starting salary (depending on knowledge and experience) between €5100 and €8000 gross per month with opportunities for growth up to €8746.
  • 8% holiday pay.

Positioning

The Site Development Manager reports to the Head of Site Development and is part of the Benelux Operations Excellence MT. In a dotted line the Site Development Manager is part of the BU MT. The Site Development Manager is hierarchical responsible for a small team of local Logistic Engineers.

Job requirements
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in Logistics, Operational Management or comparable;
  • Broad experience in a leadership role in Logistics Operational Management, Logistics site-management or Continuous Improvement
  • Experience with engineering or analysis tools, like value steam mapping, work study methodology e.g.;
  • Experience of lean methodology and a continuous improvement approach;
  • Influence skills , negotiation skills, project management skills;
  • Dutch and English, both spoken and written;
  • Ability to work and travel in Netherlands (and Belgium).
