Data Product Manager - Experimentation

We are seeking a Data Product Manager to join our Core team in the Experimentation Platform department. The Core team plays a crucial role in managing both real-time and batch data pipelines, ensuring the efficient processing of core experimentation data and its integration into our experimentation ecosystem. This team is also responsible for overseeing tracking technologies and libraries, as well as ensuring strong data governance practices, which are essential for maintaining the accuracy, security, and reliability of data used in decision-making through experimentation.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Refine and own the long-term vision and strategy of the team and its products.
- Define and monitor key critical metrics for your products.
- Empower and collaborate with your cross-functional team to unlock their full potential and improve their impact.
- Work with your team on identifying and understanding the needs of your users and the business.
- Collaborate and align with your engineering counterpart on the technical roadmap.
- Prioritize the team backlog to better address the needs of your users and the business.
- Liaise with stakeholders across the organization to ensure good performance of our products.
- Work closely with the engineering team to build and operate the product.
- Engage other product managers within the department and Booking.com to define development priorities for the product.
Qualifications & Skills:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Product Manager role in a product or e-commerce environment
- Required experience in a data product (E.g. Experimentation Platform, Metrics Platform, ML Product)
- Foundational knowledge of A/B testing and other experimentation is preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical stakeholders (Engineers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists) as well as with the users of the platform.
- Team player with a bottom-up ideation process. Ability to see the big picture, without losing sight of the product details.
- An analytical orientation and strong problem-solving skills demonstrated by the ability to structure issues and analyze alternative solutions.
- Proven experience understanding and formulating meaningful business metrics.
- Familiarity with the challenges and best practices for scaling data infrastructure in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with tracking libraries and technologies for event collection.
- Familiarity with data governance principles, including data privacy and compliance.
- Experience with exploring data, validating assumptions and understanding how data moves through systems.
