The Opportunity
The Account Manager position will be within our business unit Infectious Diseases at Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Netherlands which is located in Hoofddorp.
Abbott Rapid Diagnostics specializes in providing innovative diagnostic solutions to improve patient care, offering a wide range of point-of-care (POC) testing systems designed to deliver rapid and accurate results directly at the care site and in diverse healthcare settings.
The role will be responsible for achieving sales objectives, promoting Abbott’s POC products and services across Primary & Secondary Care sectors and developing key accounts within the specified geographic sector.
Region: North of Netherlands
What You’ll Do- Developing markets and customers, achieving sales targets, providing general customer service in the various areas of responsibility.
- Developing and executing the full Abbott Rdx product portfolio within the assigned area.
- Selling products in various market segments to different types of customers (public, private) and environments, e.g. emergency services, laboratories, cardiology units, economic departments etc.
- Managing and maintaining sales in the Account Manager’s territory, including controlling expenditures and sales margins.
- Maintaining a high level of personal knowledge regarding applications and technologies related to products and participating in congresses and customer presentations.
- Responding to customer needs and problems, taking necessary steps to solve them.
- Serving as communication interface for tracking competition, detecting new opportunities, and developing our market.
- Supplying data for the customer database and submitting sales reports and other required information.
- Enhancing the Company’s image within the territory.
- Articulating issues and business opportunities with relevant customers to secure long-term strategic business opportunities.
- Technical or scientific education in biochemistry, biotechnology, immunology, haematology, or equivalent.
- Experience with medical analysis laboratories and the hospital environment in relation to our product’s therapeutic areas.
- Sales experience in the biomedical, pharmaceutical, or biotechnologies sector.
- Previous customer service experience in the healthcare industry preferred.
- Consistent track record of achieving profitable growth.
- Advanced skills in Excel and Power Point.
- Excellent relationship capabilities to communicate with a wide range of contacts.
- Enthusiasm for sales, good communication skills, and the ability to listen.
- Enterprising, curious, with a spirit of initiative, perseverance, and an agile mind.
- Rigorous with the ability to analyze.
- Knowledge of office automation and IT tools (CRM, Microsoft Office Pack) and experience in CRM systems.
- Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and verbal.
- Frequent travel is anticipated.
