The internship
The Integrated Communication People and Legal intern will support the development and execution of the functional Communication strategies to support EverGreen, our bold and exciting strategy to deliver superior and balanced growth and the next evolution of our great HEINEKEN business.
HEINEKEN’s internship program is an exciting opportunity for talented students to join a fast paced and consumer-focused global beverage company. You will gain fantastic exposure and learnings by contributing to rolling out our purpose (“We brew the joy of true togetherness to inspire a better world”) and Dream (“Shaping the future of beer & beyond to win the hearts of consumers) to over 80,000 employees around the globe.
In this role, you will support the integrated communications and employee engagement agenda for the People Function and Legal Affairs and will be responsible for:
- Helping enhance our communications and internal events around EverGreen to further inform and engage employees on our company strategy worldwide in the functions we support (this includes internal events like town halls, fireside chats, and in-person events). This includes sending out invitations and creating teasers to analysing audience statistics and feedback results for continuous improvement.
- Owning and managing our channels. Our portals and Workplace social media are key platforms to communicate with key audiences and they require frequent updates and content creation.
- Serving as roving reporter to unearth and tell some exciting stories about our business, this includes recording videos and editing. We have a studio facility in house and will train you to produce highly engaging content.
- Co-develop exciting global campaigns such as Diversity Equity Inclusion month, World Mental Health Day, International Men’s Day, Anti-Corruption Day, Festive Season Countdown, Human Rights Day, launch of various People development programs.
- Working with the team to enhance its evaluation process to ensure we can gauge effectiveness and impact of our internal communication and change management strategy including surveying, data analysis and reporting
- Supporting on day-to-day business and ad hoc requests from across the business including operational tasks, planning, etc.

The department
You will become a member of the Integrated Communications team in Global Communications at Corporate Affairs, which is a team of highly qualified communication professionals supporting all functions of our business. The terms of employment- Your starting date is 1 February 2025
- The internship is fulltime (in consultation also 4 days a week possible)
- The duration of the internship is 6 months (in consultation with your internship supervisor)
- It is a practice-oriented internship
- You will be based in Amsterdam
- You will receive an internship fee of €650 (wo & hbo) gross pm based on fulltime
- You will enjoy 2 vacation days per month (based on fulltime)
- If you do not have a student OV product, your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed
The start of your internship
Together with a diverse group of interns from different departments you will start your internship at HEINEKEN. Together you will be introduced to the organization. Furthermore, you can organize fun activities with your fellow interns.
The unique you!- Pursuing a degree in communications, journalism, public relations or marketing
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, video editing (Canva)
- Exceptional written, verbal, and proofreading communication skills
- Ability to take complex information and distil it into concrete, clear and simple messages for various internal audiences
- Collaborative team player
- Self-starter who is structured and organized; can handle multiple projects at the same time
- Creative and outside-the-box thinker who can bring a fresh perspective to employee communications
- Passion for understanding the art of employee communications & change management
- Fluency in English
- You are enrolled at an educational institution.
- In the case of non-EU nationality, you must be registered as an intern with a Dutch educational institution.
- In case of EU nationality, you may also be registered as an intern at educational institutions outside the EU.
- Physical presence at the location of your internship. We believe that you learn most when you can work directly with your colleagues. It is therefore not possible to work completely remote and HEINEKEN does not facilitate housing.
