The internship
Are you a (graduate) student, passionate about sustainability, and looking for an experience in an international environment?
HEINEKEN committed to becoming net zero carbon by 2030 for scope 1 and 2 and by 2040 for scope 3 and to reduce its water usage significantly. To achieve this ambition, we run multiple projects, and we want to measure the impact of those projects.That’s when accurate sustainability reporting is essential. As part of this internship, you will support sustainability reporting, coordinate the overall process, provide supporting materials, manage different stakeholders, and review data accuracy and performance.
The internship is based in Schiphol (or partly remote) and available on 1st of February for a duration of a minimum of 6 months.

Your responsibilities
In this internship you will be responsible for:
- Coordinate (waste) water reporting
- Prepare and consolidate reported (waste) water data for evaluations: performance and compliance
- Update documentation and guidance on reporting
- Create training materials on (waste) water reporting for our production sites
- Support HEINEKEN Operating companies worldwide with sustainability reporting
- Analyse reporting data, highlight issues, and provide feedback to reporting sites
- Your starting date is 1 February 2025
- The internship is fulltime
- The duration of the internship is 5 or 6 months (in consultation with your internship supervisor)
- It is a theoritical-oriented internship
- You will be based in Schiphol, Amsterdam
- During your internship, you have the flexibility to work remotely
- You will receive an internship fee of €650 gross pm based on 40 hours per week (when you start at the 1st of January 2025).
- You will enjoy 2 vacation days per month (based on fulltime)
- If you do not have a student OV product, your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed
The unique you!
You are enrolled in a university located in the Netherlands and are currently studying for a master’s degree or writing your master's thesis in environmental sciences (biotechnology, chemical/environmental engineering etc.) and have the following:
- Basic knowledge of water treatment and wastewater treatment systems
- Ability to prioritize and to work in a structured way on projects individually
- Strong data analytics skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- You are enrolled at an educational institution.
- In the case of non-EU nationality, you must be registered as an intern with a Dutch educational institution, from which we receive proof of enrollment for the current academic year from you.
- In case of EU nationality, you may also be registered as an intern at educational institutions outside the EU.
- Living in the Netherlands during internship (HEINEKEN does not facilitate housing).
