QA Test Engineer
Retail media is booming! We’re building a cutting-edge platform to support all Ahold brands in Europe with a comprehensive retail media suite. Get to work in a high traffic environment on a Saa S solution that will be utilized by approximately 15 different brands across Europe.
This is how you will reinvent food retail:
- Take the lead in setting up a sustainable test automation strategy (manual and automation).
- You bring quality awareness to the table and are dedicated to creating an environment where testing is instinctive for our developers, rather than a mere obligation.
- You know what it takes to increase a higher test coverage and understand the need for test automation.
- You have experience with exploratory testing and are able to increase confidence in a solid platform.
- Take a hands-on approach in implementing QA processes throughout every step of the software development lifecycle.
- You take (shared) responsibility for the quality of user stories on our backlog.
- Contribute to the QA guild within our cluster and eager to share experiences and best practices.
- Collaborate to find the best approach with interdependencies on the product between your team and other teams within Ad-Tech.

In the ad-tech cluster, we are developing and implementing a retail media Saa S solution for all Ahold Delhaize brands in Europe. Retail media involves selling advertising space on our digital touchpoints or in-store. Examples include:
- Promoting brands like Tony Chocolonely when customers search for chocolate on our website or app.
- Displaying advertisements on big screens inside and outside stores.
- Featuring supplier-branded banners on homepage or category pages.
- Exploring new territories as retail media is a rapidly growing field.
- Your team, Digital Media Instore, is responsible for all the advertisements on the big screens in and outside the stores. A challenging technical set-up, spread over Europe, that needs high quality software. The team exists of 3 backenders, a frontender and one junior tester.
- Our ad-tech cluster, part of the Customer Tech Platform, is responsible for a flexible, cost-efficient, high-end retail media suite with extensive functionality and a growing number of brand users. We have a scale-up vibe with 5 teams and counting. A mature agile approach (no frameworks) helps you excel and highlight your skills.

- You raise your voice when necessary and bring your opinion to the table. Assertiveness and a pro-active attitude is a must for this role!
- Solid and proven experience as a Test Engineer both manual as automation of hardware. You ensure quality of the product as a whole.
- You have a good understanding of programming principles, code structure etc. As such you can participate in tech conversations on the same level as programmers.
- Have affinity and knowledge of backend systems.
- Have good interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders in a complex environment.
- Strong communication skills in English.
Bonus points for:
- Relevant experience in Retail Media.
- Experience with Typescript / Javascript.
- Experience with Playwright, Kafka, CI/CD tooling (Git Hub Actions), API testing (Postman/RESTAssured).
- Experience with Tizen.
