Sales and Business Developement Lead

Q*Bird is looking for a proactive (senior) Business Developer. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and executing the global business development and sales strategy for our innovative and game-changing quantum network products and services.
By championing a culture of collaboration, accountability, and customer-centricity, you will drive the growth of our product sales.
Your role and responsibilities:
- As our Business Development Lead, you’ll embody our commitment to understanding our customers and market dynamics. Through comprehensive market analysis and competitive assessments, you’ll identify key growth opportunities and drive organizational expansion. Your leadership will be instrumental in setting and achieving annual sales quotas, directing promotional strategies, and ensuring alignment with key business objectives.
- Representing Q*Bird as a senior business leader at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, you’ll showcase our innovation and solidify our position as a market leader.
- Collaborating closely with our Management Team, you’ll develop strategic plans and translate them into actionable sales operating plans, including targeted forecasts and resource allocations.
- Establishing and maintaining strong and lasting relationships with external stakeholders, partners, and customers to drive the successful execution of new projects.
- Collecting and incorporating valuable feedback from users and customers to guide the development of our next generation of products.
- Collaboration with internal stakeholders is key to our success. By aligning closely with our Leadership Team and our marketing & communications lead, you’ll ensure seamless integration of sales strategies with overall R&D, communication, and business objectives.
- Regularly monitoring supply and demand dynamics, reviewing sales performance, and optimizing the sales pipeline, you’ll proactively mitigate risks and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Education and Experience
- A Master’s degree in a technical field (science, engineering, networking & computer science), additionally an MBA is beneficial.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with exceptional experience will also be considered.
- Experience in managing international sales and understanding global market dynamics, particularly as Q*Bird seeks to expand the reach of quantum technologies in different geographies.
- Extensive senior-level experience in high-tech commercial leadership and business development, with a strong track record of success and a deep understanding of B2B customers and market dynamics. Experience with B2B telecom services, data center services, or network equipment vendors is a preference.
- Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts, with experience influencing customer roadmap decisions, and facilitating technology integration for clients.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
- The ideal candidate has strong initiative skills, can effectively prioritize tasks, and can manage them on their own.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, facilitating collaboration and communication.
- Proven ability to plan and streamline sales processes for optimal efficiency and productivity.
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics, utilizing CRM software for business management.
- Multilingual proficiency is advantageous.
- Customer focus: Dedication to understanding customer needs and providing tailored solutions that exceed expectations. Ability to foster long-term customer relationships and drive customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Market knowledge: Ability to gain a deep understanding of the (quantum) networking and cryptography market landscape, including emerging trends, competitors, and customer needs. Ability to anticipate market shifts and adapt business development strategies accordingly.
- Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas, proposals, and presentations to diverse audiences. Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and compelling manner.
- Business and Sales strategy development: Proficiency in developing and implementing comprehensive business development strategies aligned with our company goals. This includes setting clear objectives, identifying target markets, forecasting, and designing effective tactics to achieve sales targets.
Q*Bird is developing and producing hardware and software to enable quantum connectivity. We invent, design, build, test, and produce systems for the next generation of secure communication: the quantum Internet.
